The following websites may help you understand how to water your lawn during a water restrictions & watering bans:

 

  • Local water-use bylaws in all York Region municipalities stipulate that “odd” house numbers may use water outdoors only on “odd” numbered days of the month and that “even” house numbers may use water outdoors only on “even” numbered days of the month.

 

* Remember that the one inch once a week rule applies to lawns that are already well established. New sod will require one inch of water 2 to 3 times per week for the first 3 weeks after which time you can follow instructions above for established lawns. New grass seed MUST stay moist until established. This may mean watering lightly 2 or 3 times per day for 4-6 weeks.

Aurora Lawn Watering

  • Industrial, commercial and institutional properties also odd/even and only permitted for three hours from midnight to 6 a.m.
